At Ministry of Work, we’re surrounded by people building remarkable things – and few embody the spirit of resilience and high performance better than Ben Hepworth, Owner of GoFounder, a unique accountability and productivity service for solo founders, especially those with ADHD.
Ben’s story isn’t the typical founder narrative. Before building GoFounder, he spent 16 years in the police force, including seven in firearms. But everything changed when his son was born.
“I realised I didn’t want to do the same thing for another 35 years. I wanted freedom, flexibility – and to build something of my own.”

Finding the Founder Bug
After leaving the police, Ben jumped into entrepreneurship. He invested in property, launched a coffee shop, and dipped into consultancy. But it was his collaboration with Ministry of Work owner, Eddie Whittingham, on an early version of GoFounder that lit the spark.
Originally a free platform for first-time founders, GoFounder struggled to convert interest into action.
“We had a few thousand people sign up – but when I asked 150 of them how their startup was going, most hadn’t even begun. That’s when it hit us: the problem wasn’t information. It was accountability.”
Ben stepped in to guide people through a structured, paid programme. The results were transformational. Founders were finally launching, moving from idea to execution in just 30 days.
“They didn’t need more knowledge. They needed someone to hold their feet to the fire. That’s what changed everything.”
The Power of Accountability
Today, GoFounder is a high-impact service built around a powerful methodology called PACT – Purposeful, Actionable, Concise, Tangible and Trackable. Each founder meets with Ben weekly for a focused 20-minute call that keeps them aligned, moving, and growing.
“We don’t promise dreams. We promise discipline. I’ll help you do the things you’ve been putting off—the boring, high-impact stuff that actually grows your business.”
At the heart of the system is a shared digital ‘second brain’ where tasks, ideas, and deadlines live. Ben tracks progress in real-time, checking in when goals slip. The result? Founders become dramatically more productive and intentional.
“The science says you’re 95% more likely to hit your goals with this kind of support. I see it happen every week.”
Becoming a Solo Business Owner – Again
Earlier this year, Ben officially acquired GoFounder via an asset sale and became its sole owner. Now, running the business solo while also coaching clients has brought a new perspective.
“I’m back in founder mode – doing the admin, working from home, spinning all the plates. It’s given me even more empathy and respect for the people I coach. I’m living it again, and I know the system works.”
What’s Next for GoFounder?
With demand growing, Ben’s big goal is scale – without losing the quality that makes GoFounder so effective. That means:
-
Group coaching for small founder teams
-
Training other coaches in the PACT method
-
Launching founder clinics to help people validate ideas and get unstuck quickly
“Founders don’t need more information. They need clarity, accountability, and a system to stay aligned. That’s what we provide.”

How He Can Help
Ben brings a wealth of experience – not just from GoFounder, but from years consulting in franchising, investing in property, and working with over 150 founders. He’s also a hub of trusted connections across marketing, design, and strategy.
“If someone’s struggling in an area, there’s usually someone in my network who can help. And I know who’s good.”
Where He Needs Support
As with many solo founders, the challenge is focus—especially when it comes to marketing.
“I want to help so many different people, but refining the message is tough. If anyone can help sharpen that, I’d love to talk.”
Beyond Business
Ben lives and breathes coaching—whether in business or on the football pitch. He holds UEFA coaching badges and runs a growing football academy, recently launched entirely via WhatsApp and word of mouth.
“No website, no venue at first – I just messaged people and launched. Seven weeks later, we had 60 signups. Sometimes you just need to do it. Test the market, not your mind.”
Best Advice?
“Just do it. Take action. You’ll learn more in motion than you ever will thinking about it.”
